Welcome to the Most Magical Place on Earth
Walt Disney World opened in 1971 and has grown into a destination spanning about 25,000 acres. With four theme parks, two water parks, more than 25 Disney Resort hotels and Disney Springs, there is more here than any family can see in one trip, which is exactly why a good plan matters.
Our advisors visit often and know how to make it work for your family: which parks on which days, where to stay, what to book ahead and how to make the most of every minute.
Magic Kingdom
The heart of Walt Disney World. Walk down Main Street, U.S.A. toward Cinderella Castle, freshly repainted in 2026 in classic grays, blues and gold, and spend the day on beloved rides before parades and fireworks light up the night.
Lands to explore: Main Street, U.S.A. · Adventureland · Frontierland · Liberty Square · Fantasyland · Tomorrowland
Don't Miss
- TRON Lightcycle / Run
- Seven Dwarfs Mine Train
- Tiana's Bayou Adventure
- Big Thunder Mountain Railroad (reopened in 2026)

EPCOT
Part celebration of discovery, part trip around the world. Explore space, the oceans and the future, then stroll World Showcase, where 11 country pavilions serve up food, shopping and culture from Mexico to Japan. EPCOT hosts festivals for much of the year, so there is almost always something extra going on.
Neighborhoods to explore: World Celebration · World Discovery · World Nature · World Showcase
Don't Miss
- Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind
- Remy's Ratatouille Adventure
- Frozen Ever After
- Test Track
- Soarin' Across America (new in 2026)
- Luminous: The Symphony of Us
Disney's Hollywood Studios
Step into the movies. Hollywood Studios is home to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge and Toy Story Land, plus some of the resort’s biggest thrills and best shows. In 2026 the Animation Courtyard became The Walt Disney Studios, and the Muppets took over Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster.
Areas to explore: Hollywood Boulevard · Echo Lake · Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge · Toy Story Land · Sunset Boulevard · The Walt Disney Studios
Don't Miss
- Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance
- Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway
- Slinky Dog Dash

Disney's Animal Kingdom
Part zoo, part theme park and all adventure. Ride out on a real savanna safari, fly over the moons of Pandora and explore lands inspired by Africa and Asia. Many of the animals are most active in the morning, so this is a great park to start early.
Lands to explore: Oasis · Discovery Island · Pandora – The World of Avatar · Africa · Asia · Rafiki’s Planet Watch · Tropical Americas (opening 2027)
Don't Miss
- Avatar Flight of Passage
- Kilimanjaro Safaris

Disney Springs & Water Parks
Disney Springs is the resort’s shopping, dining and entertainment district, free to visit and full of restaurants, shops and evening fun, including Cirque du Soleil’s Drawn to Life. It’s a great choice for a rest day or a night out.
Need a break from the Florida heat? Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach water parks are a fun way to cool off. Ask us which one is open during your dates.
Walt Disney World Resort Hotels
Staying at a Disney Resort hotel gets you Early Theme Park Entry every day, the chance to book Lightning Lane 7 days before check-in and free transportation by bus, monorail, boat or Skyliner. We’ll help you choose the right resort for your family’s budget and style.
Deluxe Resorts
The most immersive stays, with themed lobbies, standout pools and prime locations, many on the monorail or within walking distance of a park. Think Grand Floridian, Polynesian and Animal Kingdom Lodge.
Moderate Resorts
A sweet spot for many families: larger themed resorts with great pools and more dining options, like Caribbean Beach, Port Orleans and Coronado Springs.
Value Resorts
Bright, fun and budget-friendly, with oversized icons kids love. Pop Century and Art of Animation are on the Skyliner, and the All-Star resorts help stretch your budget further.
Disney Vacation Club Villas
Traveling with a bigger group or staying longer? Disney Vacation Club villas range from studios to multi-bedroom villas with full kitchens, and you don’t need to be a member to book one. Disney Lakeshore Lodge, a brand-new DVC resort on Bay Lake, is set to open July 1, 2027.
What to Know Before You Go
Park Tickets
Walt Disney World tickets use date-based pricing, so the same ticket costs more during busy seasons. The per-day price drops the longer you stay, and Park Hopper lets you visit more than one park in a day.
Lightning Lane
Lightning Lane Multi Pass lets you reserve return times for many attractions, and Single Pass covers top headliners. Disney Resort guests can book 7 days before check-in for their whole stay; other guests can book 3 days ahead.
How Many Days?
We recommend at least four park days to see each theme park, and five or six to add a water park, a rest day or a second Magic Kingdom day without rushing.
When to Visit
Late January through February, late April through May and the fall after Labor Day tend to be less crowded. Summer is hot and busy, and holiday weeks are the most crowded and expensive. We’ll help you weigh crowds, weather and price for your dates.
Getting There
Orlando International Airport (MCO) is about 25 to 30 minutes from Walt Disney World. Most families use a rental car, rideshare or shuttle service, and once you’re there, Disney buses, monorails, boats and the Skyliner connect the parks and resorts.
Disney World vs. Disneyland
Walt Disney World is much bigger than Disneyland, with four theme parks spread across the resort instead of two side by side. Plan on more days, more travel time between parks and a little more strategy, which is where we come in.
